Identify Leaders and Leverage the Champions
As a continuous improvement partner internal to our client's organization, we recognized the need to create focus on the customer in order to improve our overall operations. Our client was a highly matrixed organization of medium size that needed to improve their continuous improvement implementation, transformation, and sustainment efforts.
Our team was brought on board as consultants tasked with implementing a new continuous improvement framework that would help our client achieve their goals. We started by establishing a cross-functional team that included Lean Champions from each department to champion a continuous improvement culture transformation within their teams.
The components of the system included leader behaviors, visual management, calculated risk risk-taking, success recognition, tiered escalation, and problem-solving. With the help of our Lean Champions, we were able to successfully implement this framework and make significant improvements to our client's operations.
One of the key factors in our success was the use of Lean Champions. These individuals played a crucial role in driving change within their respective departments and ensuring that everyone was on board with the new framework. They were responsible for identifying areas of improvement, facilitating Kaizen events, and leading problem-solving efforts.
Through their efforts, our client was able to improve their overall operations and achieve significant cost savings. We were also able to establish a continuous improvement culture that was embraced by everyone in the organization. The success of this initiative led to the transformation phase, which we will discuss in the next blog post.
In conclusion, implementing a continuous improvement framework is essential for any organization looking to improve their operations and achieve their goals. By using Lean Champions, our client was able to drive change and establish a culture of continuous improvement that has resulted in significant improvements in their operations.
